  Celebrate your good health... It was 31st March 2023, end of the financial year, was busy in clearing day to day official activities. A mail needed an urgent response, it was successfully responded from our end. As day passed by, the pain of my teeth gradually increased. I decided to consult a dental expert as our in-house dentist had suggested that the tooth needed extraction and during extraction few equipments might be required which were not available in our facility.   I requested one of my colleagues to take the appointment of the dentist.   Thankfully at around 5pm she managed to get the appointment. I went to the chamber. My colleague was eagerly waiting for me. To my great relief only one patient was sitting outside the chamber. Within few minutes the door of the chamber opened and I was called in. As I sat on the dental chair one of the doctors examined my teeth. Rangoli ..an art

                                                                                       Rangoli...an art Rangoli is an art form that originates from in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or a table top using materials such as powdered lime stone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks . On 22.10.2022 rangoli competition was organised in our hospital. on the occasion of upcoming Deepawali. The festival of lights. Our HR team takes all initiatives to ensure that our staff enjoys the festival while serving the patients. The competition was organised in the conference hall so that there was no space constraint. Colour was provided by the HR team....

  ….continued..   …..the last journey ……towards death   As we entered ICU on 12.10.2022, he looked at us and started  murmuring it  seemed he didn’t like our entry. His murmuring was not clear to us. His mother who was standing beside him was responding to him. She was gently putting her hand on his face, loving, caring. He was trying to push himself close to his mother, towards her chest to hide himself within his mother. He felt secured beside her. I smiled and said “ we have come to meet you”. But in his distorted voice he conveyed... didn’t  you see, I am with my mother...I want to be with her. He looked active, responsive. We spent some time  with him and came back. On 13.10.2022, again we went to meet him. We were surprised to see him fitted with pipes, monitors, syringe pumps…he was on ventilator. His eyes were pale. He was trying hard to take the breath, was taking long breaths. He was in critical condition…He was gasping… …. his ...

Photo courtesy: Niharika Singh                                                                   I along with my team member went to ICU to meet the patient Arun Jain (Patient’s name has been changed to maintain the confidentiality).   He was surrounded by  nurses; they  were busy with his medications. Though his eyes were  looking towards  us but there was no response. It was learnt that he was aware about his critical situation long before. He didn't talk with us as he did yesterday. He looked very fragile;  the nursing team shifted  him from  oral to nasal feeding. He was in pain. the on-duty doctor also attended him. He had refused to have food. He started shouting in pain...he started shouting "Moi goi asu."..(I am going) the ...
