2nd day in MMCH

4th July 2020, my 2nd day in MMCH, I woke up late..

it was difficult for me ......to be away from home particularly at this pandemic period. After taking bath, had few biscuits..as the breakfast provided was not satisfying. My phone kept on ringing...my colleagues, friends wanted me to be at ease. Since I had no alternative...I took initiative and took interest in the patient around me.They were all from nearby Ghy, within Guwahati...Even they were worried about their family members. On query it was found one of the patient was from Tihu, admitted from last 10-12 days, the other lady was from Jagiroad. She was quarantined for 7 days before coming to MMCH, she was staying from last 7 days with her son who was around 8 years.
Around 18-20 patients occupied the hall. They spend their time dancing,joking.....some were fitness freak spend time walking in the open space in between..
Unknowingly even I became their team member. After knowing my occupation they were very happy and they were happy that being in administration I can raise voice of there is any dissatisfaction...

The hall had become their world. They believed that if they are upset it may lead to depression and finally to suicidal attempts....

Mona was around 2 years and his elder sister Nandita was of around 11 years...they were the charm of the hall.... Their mother stated that they were from Maligaon and had been staying from last 14 days. She had lost her father during her stay... could not attend the funeral.

The patient next to my bed was from Guwahati, she was accompanied by her daughter Neha..
very sweet girl..always on the heels to help others.

The patient from Tihu informed there was some construction work going on in her mother's place
...though she stays in Guwahati....the masons refused to do work in Tihu....it was a social STIGMA..

At around 11 am,a nurse fully equipped with PPE(Personal Protedtive Equipment) started announcing few names ...I could not understand, later came to know that the patient whose names have been announced will be discharged ...

OMG the lady from Jagiroad started crying..stating that though she was happy...,but would miss the ...the new team members..,we consoled her..after an hour again few names were also discharged...
the list included the lady from Tihu also... though every body was overwhelmed with joy....thanked God as their prayers were answered....but we're afraid of the society
....it was STIGMA for the society.

I could feel for them..after days they would be at home showed dissatisfaction stating that their family members were already picked up for quarantine centres...so hardly they would get anyone at home.

Neha and her mother also got discharged...Neha took my details and informed that she would be visiting me at Marwari Hospitals as she was born there.

Even I would miss them....we had become very close with in these days..They had also made me strong..
even I tried to cling to the rope of positivity.

My friends,, colleagues, relatives had showered love, blessings on me...even I decided to ...be strong and fight with the....virus... try to be inspirational for others.

It would be unjustifiable if I don't mention few names who stood behind me at this crisis period...

Dr.Anil Kalita,Medical Superintendent , Hospital Superintendent of Marwari Hospitals and my colleague Ms.Priyanka...very inspiring words....
and of course my beautiful, bold family... Salute to them

Before departure of the new team members..few clicks 😄
